A lot of things surrounding health are not really that hard. Eat your vegetables/protein, go to the gym, read a book, we’ve all heard these things a million times. We do them, but a lot of times the habits don’t stick. It's not hard to do them, but the consistency over the years is very hard. If it were easy to do, we wouldn’t see so many unhealthy people in this country. The simple answer is that there is no secret to being healthy, but what is important is that you find the why behind what you are doing. Do you want to be healthy for your kids for years to come? Do you want to be able to stay active even as you age? Long-term motivation can sometimes help realign you when things start to slip. Short-term goals are excellent, but having a bigger picture of why you are doing things can be a huge advantage. Maybe you want to be a good example for your friends or coworkers in the office, or be able to go on a hike with your kids. Whatever your reason is, it is important to find it and use that to help you stay consistent with all the healthy things. If you don’t have a reason, it's so easy to let things start to slip. Maybe you can give this some thought today! :)
