If you actually sit down and think about it, a lot of the things we do are automatic. The way you pick up your phone in the morning, tie your shoes, or back out of your driveway are things you kind of just do automatically without thinking. Once you learn something new, your brain will store it. As you do it over and over, your brain will be able to perform that task basically with little effort. That's why it is so much easier to do the things you are used to doing rather than doing new things. So if you tend to pick the healthier option, it will be easier for you. But if your default is the option to do the unhealthy thing, that will become easy as well. The key is to figure out what we are unconsciously doing every day that is actually hurting us and finding a way to break those easy habits. The good thing is that although this is very hard, over time it becomes easier as we make the healthy practices easy habits. Habits are extremely powerful and beneficial when we can use them for good. :)
