Don't Miss Two Days in a Row

Recently I was talking with a friend of mine and our discussion about discipline and consistency made me think of this. As I've talked about before, building good habits can be tough. There are so many books on how to form good quality habits and make them stick. The dangerous and easy part is losing those good habits. Our mind has a way of choosing the easier options and if you are not careful you can easily convince yourself not to do something you know you're supposed to. We find a way to rationalize so many things with no real reason or basis. I heard this concept that I really like which is, that you can miss a day but never miss two days in a row. We never want to make a habit out of not doing what we're supposed to be doing. Of course, there are certain exceptions to this depending on the situation, but for the majority of the time this holds true. This is something I like to keep in mind when I am thinking about skipping something or not accomplishing the things I know I need to do.
