Endings and Life Cycles

Recently I’ve been reading a book called Necessary Endings by Dr. Henry Cloud, which I highly recommend. It delves into several different topics, but one of the most important takeaways I took away was: with everything in life, there are endings. Whether that’s a graduation, promotion, or moving jobs, there will always be times of transition and change. As humans we tend to want things to always stay the same as they are, or we are constantly just dreaming about the way things could be but not actually doing anything about it. Change can be good in many situations. Embracing that things will end, and enjoying them while they last can be a great way to enjoy the present moment, rather than holding on to things we need to let go of. It’s very hard to embrace change, but sometimes it can be the best thing for us.
